Lauren is part of a body of work examining individuals who choose to explore ideas of home and community beyond what is traditionally accepted within Australian society. Through a research and art project that investigates both the positive and negative aspects of unconventional living arrangements (from self sufficient eco-villages through to the manipulative cult that Lauren joins in this film) the artist seeks to gain a greater understanding of what leads to the failure or success of alternative societies.
