Mariah Blue, born in 1977 in Norfolk, Virginia, is a multidisciplinary artist, her practice investigates themes surrounding technologies that range from stone age pottery to machine learning algorithms. She transforms her personal experiences as a digital laborer in the gig economy into readable symbols and stories, using multimedia performance, digital platforms, sound, ceramics, and textiles. In 2006 she left her art studies in Asheville, North Carolina and relocated to Amsterdam. She attended the Gerrit Rietveld academy, graduating in 2009 with a BFA and recently graduated from the Sandberg Insituut with an MFA. Her work has been exhibited internationally.
