Katalin Tesch
Katalin Tesch is a Budapest born media artist, currently based in Zürich, Switzerland. Having a background in both music and visual arts, she works and experiments with different media, including video and installation, participatory art, sound art, photography and painting. After graduating at the Moholy-Nagy
University of Art and Design Budapest in 2005, she continued her studies in Switzerland in the field of New Media. Her video works have been shown at various festivals, including the Zürich Festival of the Arts and the Seoul International Film Festival. In 2012 she won the 2nd prize ex aequo at the In OUT Festival, organized by the Laznia Centre for Contemporary Art, Gdansk. In her current practice Tesch investigates how online media, social networking and our everyday digital gadgets leave their marks on our perception and what factors shape the creation of our personal stories as explanations of the surrounding reality.
She is founder and director of the independent, experimental online art space UN/CUBE.
