Dirk Sorge
Dirk Sorge works as artist and cultural educator in Berlin and Leipzig. In his arts practice he inquires how technological artefacts and digital media shape the way we perceive ourselves and our surrounding. His works include videos, computer programs and mixed media installations. Many of them question the notion of authorship by involving the audience directly, using found footage or assigning creative decisions to machines. Reoccurring topics are digitalization, standardization and bureaucracy. By working in a conceptual way and applying logical and algorithmic structures or sets of rules, Sorge reveals and de-constructs the aesthetics of pop culture, science and science-fiction in a playful, often ironic way.
His works were shown in Australia, South Korea, Israel, Romania and Germany.
