Private Eye I

Bogey involved in a Beckettian shadowing (a strange case). In this work I deconstruct and re-assemble a sequence of the classical Hollywood cinema (Hawks's "The Big Sleep") into an humorous and obsessive repetition playing these images (just like Bogart's action) against themselves. Through digital technologies I remix a cultural pattern in order to enact a critique of collective imaginary of cinema. To reassemble fragments of cinematic history is a game with the huge databases available; somehow it's a sort of act of resistence to the overwhelming stream of images in which we live.
