‘Nervus Opticus’ is a stop-motion animation by the Dutch visual artist Hidde van Schie. The nervus opticus is the nerve that sends light impulses to the brain where the impulses are formed into an image. In the movie the paper-cutouts of old scientific and comic illustrations come to life and form stories around universal themes such as birth, death and evolution.’
