Jacques Lacan argues that children don't not realize that they are '"themselves," until they are able to recognize their own gaze in the mirror. This primal mirror stage goes on to orient the concept of self and body throughout life. "me and you and you and me," explores how the mirror anchors the 'self' by defining both boundaries and genders. Using queer and feminist themes this film considers both the surface of the mirror and the layers of identity we shroud our 'selves' in.
