  • Matt Frieburghaus creates sound, video, and prints using digital processes that manipulate observed and captured sound, video, and data. He regularly exhibits in regional, national, and international venues including the Art Galery of Oi Futuro, Art Gallery of SESI-SP, Field Projects, Newhouse Center for Contemporary Art, Saranac Art Projects, and the Everson Museum of Art. He has exhibited at university galleries including Work • Ann Arbor at the University of Michigan, Foster Gallery at the University of Wisconsin, Eau Claire, Lowe Art Gallery at Syracuse University, and Hartell Gallery at Cornell University. He most recently exhibited a video installation in Peekskill Project V at the Hudson Valley Center for Contemporary Art in Peekskill, NY and sound work for Reuse Aloud at the NewBridge Project Space in Newcastle Upon Tyne, UK. He is presently a fellow in the Artist in the Marketplace program at the Bronx Museum of the Arts and will exhibit in Bronx Calling: The Second AIM Biennial at 1285 Avenue of the Americas Gallery from June – September 2013. Matt received a BFA in Animation from the Minneapolis College of Art and Design and an MFA in Computer Art from Syracuse University. He is Associate Professor of Digital Media at Marist College and lives in Cold Spring, NY, with his family.
