Amauta Garcia

Her work explores the intersection between architecture, sculpture and video as tools to intervene in social processes. She is interested in the relationships between urban extractivism, migration and real estate speculation. She has exhibited in Mexico, the Netherlands, Germany, the United States, Georgia and Cuba. She was artist-in-residence at Jan van Eyck Academie (2021-2022) and Borderland Residencies, Germany (2022). In 2023, the film Arrullo, co-directed by her, was part of the IFF Rotterdam and she was selected for the art residency at Hotel Maria Kapel, Netherlands.
