An exploration of sites flagged for infrastructural change as part of the development and construction of the City Rail Link in Auckland, New Zealand. The screen-grabbed images commit Google Earth render glitches to digital memory, revealing only the approximate presence of buildings, spaces and surrounding urban life.
While these ephemeral moments are easily lost, the transitional viewpoints introduce a moment where systems of logarithmic space, memory of place and ambiguous timing combine to create unreliable landscapes. Once the images are stored, the landscapes become part of an alternative urban imaginary that unsettles time across space.
