Sebnem Yuksel

SEBNEM YUKSEL (1977) Interdisciplinary artist, performer and choreographer Being dance as her main field, she believes in the freedom of creative expression. As well as dance performances, she makes installations, video works and painting by taking the body as her primary tool. Completed her BA degree in University of Kent, London Contemporary Dance School (2001), MA and Sufficiency in Arts Degrees in Istanbul Mimar Sinan Fine Arts University State Conservatory Contemporary Dance Department where she taught between 2002-2016 with a Research Assistant position. In 2019, she returned back to academics as an Assistant Professor at Canakkale 18th March University Theatre Department. Yuksel has danced and performed in many leading festivals in various countries from Singapore to North America and at many cities in Europe and in Turkey. Yuksel’s overall intention with her practices is cultivating the seeds for creative spirits those naturally resides in each of us.
