The work is referencing Timothy Morton's "All Art is Ecological" (2021; penguin), especially the ideas around property and rights language. The work is also inspired by Max Dashu´s continuous work "Supressed History Archives" (1970 - now). It also references a German song "Schicke, Schicke Schuh" by Conny Froeboess from 1958, to which by beloved ancestor danced and played her 7" record. I modified the lyrics and wove them into the grief poem "Trauerschiff" (Ship of Grief). The cloth I am wearing is canvas that has been buried with red pigment in the snow to become a sail/dress/veil.
