Valeria Barbas

Valeria Barbas, (born 1984) is a singer/composer&media artist, based in Chişinău, Republic of Moldova. She studied for a BA, MA in composition, Academy of Music, Theatre and Art, Moldova, also studied for a BA in singing and painting. Electronic music courses with M. Afanasiev. PhD in study of art, author of a book about new music in Republic of Moldova. Director/concept author of Tv program Zona Ars at public Tv MOLDOVA 1. Member of Association of women in moldovan cinematography. Working medium: singing, sound/music, performance, installation, video-art, film. Collaborates since 2008 with KSA:K Center for Contemporary Art. Selected projects: European Cultural Festival TANDEM of Performance, 2012;GHOST PAVILION campaign, part of ATLANTIS’11 and HEICO project at Venice Biennale (ed.54, 2011, IT); Claxymphonie selected at Cronograf International Documentary Film Festival 2017, RM; Ideagenerator soundinstallation in collab. with F.
