Erik Mijwaard

Erik Mijwaard (1979) started to create tools for video-manipulation at the University, in 2000. He played his videos in a vj-collective, ‘Videotroopers’, at national and international festivals in Europe and the USA. His self produced and real-time-manipulated visuals range from errorism - distorted, defected and pitched-up, glitched, disfigured and twitching footage - to hyper realistic, delicate imagery. Forged together seamlessly, they stress feelings of electronic incoherence, melancholy or euphoria provided by the audio.
