Elena Solis

Elena Solis. Audiovisual artist and sculptor, born in Mexico City in 1993. Focused in experimental practices and free improvisation, she has dedicated her work to an exploration of the limits through metaphors shown in her practices and technical abilities; away from the conventional narratives, her cinematographic work search for experiences connecting and constantly reinterpreting her pieces; always centered on merging the three states of creative production: the impulse to create, the technique to construct and the exhibition. She carried out a residence for two years in the Laboratorio Experimental de Cine at Montevideo, Uruguay, where she learned and performed the art of film, appropriation and film performance. At present, with Daniela Solis, she is part of a collective named Anómala, who leads a series of encounters for women artist and researchers with the purpose to impulse artistic production and exhibition through a female perspective. Daniela Solis. My name is Daniela Solis I was born on march 1990 and I'm a Mexican artist . I work with sound and visuals (video, photo and an overhead projector). I’m interested in the development of audiovisuals and live performance. I started making music and sounds on 2017 and I have been experimenting with video and visual stimulus since I was very young. Today I focus my work on the experimentation of both, light and sound. I have performed in different occasions in mexico city and online. Won a price for my sonic piece 'sounds from the uncomfortable women' on the open call by The lake radio, 'works for radio'.
