The Memetic Manifesto is written by cultural philosopher Martijn Pieterse (1972, Zoeterwoude, The Netherlands) and media artist Anuska Oosterhuis Oosterhuis (1978, Enschede, The Netherlands). Pieterse and Oosterhuis are board member and founder of the Artememes Foundation (2007, Rotterdam, The Netherlands), an art organisation that aims to reflect on the position of man in a society dominated by mass media images.
